More Enjoyment in the Tiny Moments

It’s funny how our brain works.

It likes to give importance to certain moments over others.

A wedding, a birthday, a new job, giving a speech, a vacation. These “big moments” are categorized as more important than the tiny ones.

Somehow the tiny moments like folding laundry, doing dishes, learning a new skill, reading, or taking a shower are viewed as less than.

And because of that we tend to rush through them, or resist enjoying them because we are just waiting for the next big moment.

And this kind of thinking takes us out of the present moment, always preoccupied with the next “big moment” that’s supposedly going to bring us that feeling we are looking for.

Meanwhile, when the next big thing comes around, we can’t even enjoy it because our brain has been programmed to always be looking ahead instead of being fully present in the now.

How can you enjoy and appreciate the tiny moments more?

Because there are far more tiny moments in our lives than there are big ones!
